The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has appointed two of Trinidad and Tobago’s most celebrated cricketers, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard, as Ambassadors for Sport.
In a statement, the Ministry recognized Bravo and Pollard’s exceptional achievements in international cricket and noted their ongoing contributions to promoting Trinidad and Tobago’s image globally through the appointments.
Bravo, 42, is an award-winning all-rounder and former West Indies captain. He has long been regarded as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s leading sportsmen. Bravo was well known for his aggressive lower-order batting and for his bowling in the final overs of a match.
In addition to his cricketing success, he has made significant cultural contributions through music and has globally represented the Trinidad and Tobago brand. In 2015, the country awarded him its national medal, the Hummingbird Medal (Gold), for his service to sport.

Pollard, 38, is also a former West Indies limited-overs captain. He is respected worldwide for his leadership, professionalism, and success across international and franchise cricket, particularly in the T20 format. His career has made him a standard-bearer for Trinidad and Tobago on the global sporting stage. Known as one of the most aggressive batsmen, he also holds the record of six 6s in an over against Sri Lanka.

According to the Ministry, the appointments were based on outstanding national performances. Their achievements inspire citizens and raise the country’s profile worldwide.
The Ministry stated it looks forward to working closely with both ambassadors. They will continue to promote the values of excellence, teamwork, and national pride, and help advance Trinidad and Tobago’s international reputation.
