The Stewart Hotel in midtown Manhattan is being used as an intake and assessment center for recently arrived immigrants on October 07, 2022 in New York City. A parking lot is being prepared on Randall's Island for the arrival of migrants that have arrived from Texas. After cancelling the plan to house asylum seekers in tents on Orchard Beach, Mayor Eric Adams is now preparing to move the site to Randall's Island.
