Cricket West Indies (CWI) believes historic Kensington Oval in Barbados is the ideal venue to host the Caribbean’s maiden day/night Test.

The Oval, located in the capital Bridgetown will stage the ground-breaking third Test between West Indies and Sri Lanka which will be played under lights.

CWI chief executive officer, Johnny Greaves, said the day/night Test could not have been played in a better venue than the iconic Kensington Oval and it will and extra special occasion, as the match starts on the 90th anniversary of the first ever Test in the Caribbean which was also played there.

Sri Lanka arrived in the Caribbean at the end of the month for a three-Tet series which will mark their fourth bilateral tour of the region.

The first Test will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad from June 6-10 before traveling to St Lucia for the second Test from June 14-18.
