St. Kitts is the larger of the twin-island nation (St. Kitts and Nevis) in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, with a major tourism package. From breathtaking beaches and lush rainforests to exquisite sights and sounds, the island is surrounded by enticing blue waters and is ranked among the highest in hospitality and modernistic future.
Midwestern Sales Representative in the United States, Chimarie Morillo, during an interview with Caribbean Life, expressed how proud she was to be the representative of the Tourism Authority, and was excited to speak about of “exquisite St. Kitts, and our sister island Nevis, because we are two islands with one federation, she shared at the recent 2026 New York Travel & Adventure Show at the Jacob Javits Center.
“In St. Kitts, I feel there are so many things that you can do. You can come to the island ventures, and you would learn not only about the culture and history, but partake in some of the local events that we usually have all year round.”
“Our attractions start in March. We have a cross-channel swim event where people from ages eight to eighty swim from Nevis to St. Kitts. It is a big event.”
The adventurous swim that starts from Oualie Beach in Nevis across the narrows to Cockleshell Beach, a distance of 4.1km, challenges adventure seekers who brave currents and big swell while enjoying a sea floor teeming with marine life.
Morillo added that a three-night music festival, filled with local music, performed by several local, regional, and international artistes, is an event “that can never be missed.”
Restaurant Week in July honors chefs and farmers with a week of culinary celebration, showcasing everything from fine dining to street food festivals, each highlighting products and organic vegetables grown in abundance.
Excitement was evident in her voice as she described the carnival presentation held at the end of the year. “This is a ‘big bang’ celebration in the form of a colorful carnival, called Sugar Mas. The costume-clad masses take to the streets in December and January. “It is all about breaking out of the old and bringing in the new,” she recounted, about the Island’s signature events.
For a more relaxing vacation, Nevis is the place to go. Time slows as tranquility makes way for unhurried exploration. Across just 36 square miles of lush rainforest and secluded beaches, vacationers find an unspoiled landscape of inspiration.
With charming inns and luxurious resorts, farm-to-table dining and gracious, openhearted hospitality, Nevis brims with the promise of discovery, said the Tourism Authority.
Minister of Tourism, Marsha T. Henderson, in a welcome message published in “Discover St. Kitts,” shared what the two-island destination has to offer.
“From our breathtaking beaches and lush rainforests to our rich cultural heritage, St. Kitts continues to captivate and inspire visitors from around the globe,” said the message.
“The dedication and warmth of our hospitality professionals ensure that every visitor leaves with cherished memories and a true sense of Kittitian hospitality.”
“Our commitment to sustainable tourism ensures that the natural beauty and ecological integrity of St. Kitts are preserved for generations to come,” wrote Henderson.
The dainty island can be reached from gateways such as Charlotte, Miami, New York, Atlanta, Newark, and other hubs via the mega carriers American, Delta, JetBlue, and United.
