A commemorative logo celebrating the 50th anniversary of the West Indies’ first Cricket World Cup victory has won a Silver award at the American Advertising Awards Caribbean competition.

The logo, created for the 2025 Cricket West Indies/West Indies Players’ Association Awards Gala, marked 50 years since the 1975 Cricket World Cup triumph by the West Indies men’s national cricket team, led by Clive Lloyd. The June 2025 gala in Bridgetown celebrated the legacy of that historic team.

The president of Cricket West Indies, Kishore Shallow, said the recognition represents more than creative success.

“This award reflects the profound significance of the 50th anniversary of the 1975 World Cup and its champions… It stands as a tribute not only to a historic sporting milestone but to the enduring legacy of that victorious West Indies team.”

He also praised the collaboration behind the design.

“The commemorative logo developed in collaboration with Always On Creative is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when West Indian creative minds unite in pursuit of excellence… This ADDY Award is not merely symbolic. It is a testament to collaboration, imagination, and regional pride.”

Shallow also commended lead designer Sergio Charles and team members Tashida Callender, Jamal Slocombe, and La Donna Williams for their work.

Charles said the project was personally meaningful.

“As an ardent West Indies cricket supporter, I welcomed the opportunity to contribute to a project that honours such a defining moment in our sporting history.”

He added: “The 1975 World Cup victory remains a source of immense pride for the region and it was a privilege to help visually capture that legacy through this commemorative mark. This recognition also affirms the strength and potential of Caribbean creative talent.”

The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest creative competition, recognising excellence in design, marketing, and advertising across local, regional, and national levels.
