The West Indies will have a powerful and familiar voice on the global stage at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as Ian Bishop, Samuel Badree, and Carlos Brathwaite were named to a distinguished commentary team recently announced by the ICC.
The trio headlines the Caribbean presence on ICC TV’s world feed, ensuring West Indies perspectives, insight, and history remain firmly embedded in coverage of the sport’s biggest T20 event, which runs from Feb 7 to March 8.
Veteran broadcaster Ian Bishop is among the lead commentators, continuing a role that has made him one of the most recognizable and respected voices in world cricket. He will be working together with former West Indies spinner Samuel Badree and 2016 T20 World Cup hero Carlos Brathwaite.
Brathwaite struck four consecutive sixes to seal the 2016 title for the West Indies, saying returning to the World Cup in the commentary box carried special meaning.
“This tournament has a way of creating moments that live forever,” Brathwaite said. “Ten years on from Ian Bishop’s iconic commentary of our win in Kolkata, it’s an honor to take up my seat in the communications box this time around.”
Badree, a former T20 World Cup winner himself, continues to build his reputation as a sharp analyst, particularly in breaking down spin bowling and match-ups in the shortest format.
The West Indies trio form part of a high-profile commentary lineup featuring some of the game’s most recognisable names, including Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith and Kumar Sangakkara, as well as former World Cup winners Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan.
