West Indies continues to languish at the bottom of the standings in Test cricket, while cricketers from the region have made little progress in the player’s rankings.
The regional side, which recently lost a Test series against India 0-2, remained at number eight in the rankings just above Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
The highest ranked West Indies batsman is Darren Bravo who is in 28th position, while fast bowler Kemar Roach who is listed at number 23 in the bowler’s rankings.
However, South Africa has moved up a few places and their paceman Dale Steyn has stormed back to the one position for Test bowlers according to the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings released recently.
Steyn, who grabbed five for 33 in the second innings against New Zealand in the Centurion Test recently in what was his 26th five-wicket haul , finished with match figures of eight for 99 to help his team complete a 204-run victory.
Pakistan currently tops the team standings while there were no major changes in the list of batsmen with Australia captain Steve Smith leading the table. South Africa has moved up two places to fifth in the Team Rankings, while New Zealand has slipped two places to seventh.
