Jamaican-born, New York-based Bleu & Bougie party series CEO Jerry McDonald named Netflix star and YouTube sensation Daym Drops as the official brand ambassador for the upscale New York party event.
McDonald made the announcement on Sunday, Feb. 1, at a launch ceremony at The Water Grill restaurant at Hudson Park in New Rochelle, New York.
He said Daym Drops, born Daymon Scott Patterson and a Connecticut native, is widely regarded as “the most viral African American food critic in America. He has built a massive following through his authentic, energetic, and entertaining food reviews on YouTube.”
“Drops’ influence extends beyond digital platforms. He has appeared on national television stations, including NBC’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon,” McDonald said. “He also had a starring role in the Netflix food documentary series Fresh, Fried & Crispy.”
McDonald said the partnership with Drops went beyond mere celebrity alignment.
“It reflected shared values that incorporate culture, connection, and elevated experiences,” he said.

An elated Drops told Caribbean Life that he plans to bring energy and authenticity to the brand.
“Whatever people see online, that’s just how I am in person,” he said. “My energy is always the same, no matter what time of day it is.”

Renowned for his high-energy in-car food reviews and viral catchphrases, Drops said his role at Bleu & Bougie goes beyond food.
“When people want to play the wall, or they don’t know who to talk to, I’m the icebreaker,” he said. “That’s me.”

Drops said the name Bleu & Bougie set expectations.
“When you hear the words country club, that already lets you know this isn’t a regular event,” he said. “You have to dress to the nines. You’re coming in your finest.”
But he rejected the notion that “bougie” means exclusion.

“I don’t see it as people feeling like they’re better than everybody else,” Drops said. “Everybody receives the same welcome mat when they arrive. Those open arms greet you when you walk in the door.”
Drops said Bleu & Bougie represents a lifestyle rooted in aspiration, not arrogance.

As Bleu & Bougie continues evolving into a lifestyle brand centered on style, culture, and culinary excellence, Drops said he’s excited about the future.
