Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn strongly urges everyone to join the rapidly growing roster of Brooklyn Democratic voters to rank Andrew Cuomo #1 for election as New York City Mayor.
“Our city and nation are facing extraordinary challenges—from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids and civil rights, job reductions, education funding crises, and reduced support for our most vulnerable,” said Bichotte Hermelyn, the daughter of Haitian immigrants, who represents the 42nd Assembly District in Brooklyn.
“At a time when extremists threaten public servants and working families are under pressure, we need steady, tough, proven leadership,” she added. “That’s why, as chair of New York’s largest and most diverse Democratic Party, I’m reminding everyone to rank Andrew Cuomo #1 for Mayor. He is the candidate who has received the most substantial support from a wide range of diverse elected officials in Brooklyn and Unions.”
Bichotte Hermelyn said Cuomo has “the most experience to lead NYC.
“He has shown courage and clarity in difficult times, understands the need to protect civil rights, expand healthcare, and strengthen education,” she said. “Cuomo fights for equity and opportunity for all New Yorkers, which is why he is Brooklyn’s #1 Choice.”
But, just as Bichotte Hermelyn “steadfastly” stands by Cuomo, she said she’s “proud“ to endorse Manhattan Borough President Mark D. Levine and State Senator Kevin S. Parker for NYC Comptroller.
She noted that the Comptroller “plays a vital role in overseeing our city’s fiscal health while safeguarding our leadership in City Hall.“
Bichotte Hermelyn said, “Levine has dedicated his career to promoting equity — from classrooms to the city’s council chambers—and will bring that same passion and precise action to improve and protect our city’s finances.“
At the same time, Bichotte Hermelyn said, “Parker’s deep Brooklyn roots and decades of public service experience make him a champion for economic justice.“
She urged, “Make sure your vote counts — choose Cuomo, Levine, and Parker for their experience and integrity. ”
Early Voting is underway, and Primary Election Day is on Tuesday, June 24.
