The Caribbean American Poetry Association (CAPA), a nonprofit advancing Caribbean poetry in the U.S., will host a virtual Thanksgiving Book Party on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
The group will celebrate author Andre G. Small, who will read from his upcoming book “Journey Through My Adversities,” and poet Juliet Lindsay, who will recite from her debut collection Julie’s Gems.
In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving, the program aims to offer Caribbean authors a platform to showcase their work. Small’s story highlights triumph over adversity, while Lindsay’s poetry shares encouragement for the holidays. Small’s book can be ordered and Lindsay’s collection is available for purchase at this link: https://givebutter.com/g4uz4I.
“We invite friends and family to gather for a fun and cozy event,” said Dr. Beryl R. Williams, president, and founder of the Caribbean American Poetry Association.
“Grab your favorite drink, get comfy in your favorite spot, and let’s soak in the wonderful messages both authors have to offer,” said Williams.
“Mark your calendar and get ready for a literary celebration like no other,” added Williams.
