Caribbean boxer makes history

With a reputation as being “slick” in the ring with elegance and poise, Alicia Ashley is one of the most accomplished female boxers on the global map today.

Competing against the odds of age and sex in a male-dominated sport, Alicia is a great mentor and trainer to females of all ages and nationalities at the famous Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, New York.

Ashley was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica learning at a young age to push boundaries and strive for excellence. Her move to New York City at the age of 11 jump-started her accomplished life thus far.

To add to Alicia’s myriad of accomplishments, she is set to make history as the first female to headline a boxing card in New York City. Alicia, a three-time world champion will be the main event on her home turf. She will be representing not only for her local Brooklynites, for all five of the New York City boroughs, and most importantly for her Caribbean roots!

The fight will take place on Jan. 13 where she will continue her reign and make history for New York City sports.
