A mesmerizing Christmas Village on Friday, Dec. 5. The event captured the holiday season and the spirit of joy, love, and peace, thanks to the leadership of Liberty Bible Fellowship Church that granted the youth ministry’s wish for this magical presentation.
From the moment celebrants arrived on Friday evening, they were immediately transported into a festive ambience. A giant Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and fairy lights, a merry Christmas backdrop, and Santa’s elves at work handing out local drinks, including Sorrel, Ginger Beer, Mauby, golden apple juice, hot chocolate, and cookies, enhanced the experience.
Beyond the entrance, guests were guided to the nativity station by Joseph, the Virgin Mary, and baby Jesus in swaddling clothes. Angels surrounded the scene.

First Lady Mrs. Rachel Persaud warmly welcomed the Christian congregation and extended Christmas greetings as they entered the magnificently decorated sanctuary, which featured activity stations.

Children and adults, festively dressed and starry-eyed, followed arrows to holiday games, arts and crafts, a creative ornament station, a spiritual kiosk, and a table for wrapping gifts destined for senior citizen homes.
Caroling featured iconic songs like Oh Come All Ye Faithful, I Wish You a Merry Christmas, A Child Is Born, and The 12th Day of Christmas, among others.
Mrs. Persaud opened the festivities with a heartfelt prayer.
“We take this evening to praise and glorify you. We thank you because your name is Jesus. You are the savior of the entire world, Jesus. You became the light of the world that was plunged into total darkness. We thank you for the sacrifice you made to lead heaven’s splendor so we can come into this world as babes.”
“We give you praise and thanks for this season, not only for material things of gifts, but also spiritual things, sitting at your feet, listening to words of what you want us to do this season.”
“Bless us here tonight, grant us a great experience with each other and with you, God. I pray that you give us a safe and wonderful time together in the mighty name of Jesus,” said Sister Rachel.

That evening, in an interview with Caribbean Life, Mrs. Persaud praised the youth ministry’s initiative to design the holiday decoration.

“The youth asked the leadership if they put together a plan of action to create a Christmas Village, would it be embraced by the church. We accepted the suggestion but thought, how could this be done. But after last Sunday’s worship, it came alive. We were astonished to see the transformation. The vision and dream became a reality,” said Mrs. Persaud.
“We embraced Christmas, not only spiritually, but physically, with trimmings, the Christmas tree, fairy lights, balloons, and angels. We embraced the spiritual things of life,” she shared.
“This is our first Christmas Village in the sanctuary,” Mrs. Persaud said. She added that young people enjoy the activities and display creativity in every aspect to expand church events.
“I would like to encourage people to visit our church. There is a special message for everyone from the bible, no compromising. Everything is real. The word takes you to another level, it’s awesome worshiping with us, she said.

“Some watch the livestreaming worship, but when they are present, it is a wonderful experience. We look forward to seeing you in-house, a personal visit to Liberty Bible Fellowship Church, said Mrs. Persaud.

Later that night, Pastor Joseph Persaud said it was a powerful evening at Liberty, where over 500 persons from the community and the church joined in to enjoy the Christmas Village celebration.
The dazzling event was hosted by Suraj, Rishma, and the youths. “It was a wonderful display of the story of Christmas and Jesus, who came as a baby to save the world. We have multiple events until the New Year. Please join us,” he said.
Christmas Villages, popular since the early 20th century, remain a beloved holiday tradition in churches. They celebrate the season and bring joy to all ages.
