Dominica’s Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) has launched the National Gospel Festival, “Glory in Paradise,” in collaboration with faith-based and community partners.
The first festival will be held on Feb. 28, 2026, at 5 p.m. at Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by DDA in Roseau, the Dominica capital, where organizers outlined the vision for Glory in Paradise as a national gathering. They stated the event’s objectives as fostering worship, music, and community engagement, while strengthening Dominica’s events calendar and supporting tourism development.
Positioned as a spiritual and cultural experience, DDA said the festival will feature international, regional, and local gospel artists, welcoming residents, visitors and members of the diaspora.
“The initiative reflects a growing interest in faith-centered experiences, while creating space for unity, reflection and collective participation,” DDA said.
Speaking at the launch, Minister for Tourism Denise Charles Pemberton said the festival’s objectives are to align with the government’s broader approach to national development and events programming, focusing on unity, reflection, and socio-economic growth.
“Glory in Paradise” reflects our belief that national events should strengthen unity, provide positive spaces for reflection and contribute to social and economic development. Through the Discover Dominica Authority, the Government is proud to support an initiative that brings people together while enriching our national events calendar,” he said.
Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism, Marva Williams, said DDA is approaching the festival with the same level of commitment applied to its flagship events.
“’Glory in Paradise’ is being given the same level of strategic focus, operational planning, and promotional support that the Discover Dominica Authority applies to the World Creole Music Festival,” she said.
“From production to partnerships, this event is being treated with equal importance and professionalism,” Williams said.
DDA said patrons can expect an evening of prayer, praise, and fellowship, with prayers offered for families, youth, peace, national development, and environmental protection.
The program will also provide opportunities for Christian youth and local artistes to share the stage with regional and international performers, supporting exposure, growth, and collaboration, DDA said.
It said the festival’s musical lineup reflects a wide range of gospel expressions, featuring a diverse group of local artists, including DJ Alfie, J-Cro (Calvin Deravariere), Champion in God, and several choirs and ensembles.
Regional gospel artists include Carlene Davis of Jamaica, as well as Positive and Blessed Messenger of Trinidad and Tobago.
International gospel artistes scheduled to perform are Sinach and Ada Ehi of Nigeria and Travis Greene of the United States of America.
