Dylan Carter, a three-time Olympian, will lead a five-member team representing Trinidad and Tobago at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore from July 11 to Aug. 3. The swimming events will be held from July 26.

The Aquatics Sports Association of T&T (ASATT) recently confirmed the team via a social media post. Other team members include Nikoli Blackman, Liam Carrington, Isabella Dieffenthaller, and Zuri Ferguson, who have all had notable swimming achievements at various competitions.

Carter, who is 29 years old, will compete in the 50m and 50m butterfly events after his performance at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Blackman, a 20-year-old gold medalist at the 2023 World Junior Swimming Championships, will compete in Singapore’s 100m and 200m freestyle events.

Carrington and Ferguson, who excelled at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in April, will also be part of the team. Carrington, aged 17, achieved remarkable success at the CARIFTA champs as he copped eight individual medals and will compete in the 100m backstroke.

Ferguson, who is 18 years old, is set to compete in the 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke events after her record-breaking performance at the CARIFTA championships.

Dieffenthaller, a member of the successful T&T team from the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation Championships, will represent Trinidad and Tobago in the 100m and 200m freestyle events.

Coach Dexter Browne will guide the team, and Bertram Blackman will serve as the team manager for the championships in Singapore.
