Students at the J. Love Fashion School of Etiquette, founded by Jaqueline Love, recently showed up and showed off their stunning outfits at a spring runway show in the Jamaica Queens Central Public Library.
Love, who has over 30 years of experience in hosting kids’ runway shows, giving the underprivileged community an opportunity to shine bright like a diamond, told Caribbean Life that the show was a smash hit.

“All the models were excellent and very professional. The designer’s collection was beautiful. Everyone loved the fashion show,” she reiterated, thanking host, Natalie “Lil Nat” Barrington, for an amazing job, and for keeping the audience entertained.
The event that merged Jazz New Orleans style with current fashion trends featured glamorous outfits in dresses, separates, and matching getups in bright colors, black, white, and metallic, accented with Mardi Gras face masks, fur accents, and beading that captured the essence of the afternoon’s theme.
The runway saw a steady flow of chocolate leather hand-printed design pants, paired with a black lace top, and ensembles that rivaled New York’s Seventh on Sixth fashion week.

The show brought the audience to its feet. In addition to gift giveaways, from patron Ralph McDaniel who opened the show, youths, parents, friends, and families had the most exciting experience ringing in the colorful spring season, which also paid tribute to Women’s History Month.
Special thanks to photographers Alonzo Boldin and Gail Dobbin, who captured the walk, twirl, and smile of the models, many of whom channeled the famous strut of international supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Chef Nian L. Taylor’s Gumbo tasting added another level of flavor to the event, while DJ Stokes did his thing, spinning popular hits, much to the delight of the models and fans alike, who were dressed to impress and certainly enjoyed the Fashion Show.
Love, who produced the spring fling, ended the show with heartfelt appreciation to her crew. She also applauded designers Mike Sylla, Shotntyce Morrison, and Gwendoline Kara. The models were outfitted in Jewelry by Cassandra Walker- Phillips.
The models were Verona Willis, Patricia Robinson, Sergio Delavicci, Anyah Smith, Jasmine Jarvis, Dajza Harris, Candice Wyatt-Wright, Tyneisa Kinloch, Camella Palmer, Briana Cypress, Milani Ramsay, Jayden Lakeem Gadson, Linda Derry, Dallas Arrington, Keanna Bryant, Sheryka Lucien (intern), and Fashion Xchange.
