Guyana is set to host the fourth season of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), which will start on Sept. 6 and conclude on Sept. 17.
All seven games, including the final, will be played at Providence Stadium, and the three teams will play against each other twice.
The inaugural edition of the WCPL in 2022 was held in St. Kitts and Nevis, while the 2023 and 2024 seasons were held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
Similar to the previous three seasons, the 2025 edition of the competition will feature the home side Guyana Amazon Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Barbados Royals.
The Royals are the defending champions, having defeated the Knight Riders by four wickets in the final last year.
The Royals have been the tournament’s best team so far, finishing runners-up in 2022 and winning two titles in 2023 and 2024.
The Knight Riders won the tournament in 2022 and were losing finalists in 2024, while the Amazon Warriors were third in 2022 and 2024 and runners-up in 2023.
The Royals’ Hayley Matthews is the tournament’s leading run scorer with 424 runs. She is also the highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets.
