Grenadian-born gospel artist and minister Ijeal Joseph has released a new single, “Perfect.”
“This song, ‘Perfect’, was born from a very real moment in my journey,” Joseph, a Brooklyn resident, told Caribbean Life on Monday, Jan. 5. “It came during Inspiration & Light, a 31-day daily devotional journey I intentionally stepped into.
“It wasn’t about posting perfectly worded thoughts or presenting myself as spiritually polished; it was about showing up daily—honest, vulnerable, and open—allowing God to meet me wherever I was,” he added. “Inspiration & Light was created as a space for reflection, prayer, and encouragement. Each day offered a moment to pause, listen, and realign my heart with God.
“Some days it flowed easily; other days it came through tears, questions, and quiet wrestling with Him,” Joseph continued. “It reminded me that faith isn’t always loud or neat — but it is always real.
“One of those days, I shared a post that came straight from my heart,” he said. “Later, I realized I had made multiple typographical errors. One person pointed them out — with love. But many others didn’t even mention them. They read past the imperfections and still received the message.”
Joseph said that moment stayed with him. “And then the thought came: That’s exactly how God is,” he said. “Not that He condones our sin — but He refuses to define us by it. Not that He ignores our flaws — but He looks beyond them.
“Where we see mistakes, God sees meaning,” he added. “Where we see brokenness, God sees beauty waiting to be restored. What we often label as ‘damaged goods’, God calls worthy of healing.”

Joseph emphasized that “Perfect” is not about “having it all together.” Instead, the song’s core message is being held together and made whole by grace, even when we feel imperfect.
“God doesn’t wait for you to be whole before He loves you; his love is what makes you whole,” he said. “This song is for the imperfect ones, the broken ones; The ones who keep trying — even after falling again and again.

“It’s for those who feel like they’ve disappointed God one too many times; for those who feel unseen, unfinished, or unworthy,” he added. “You are not disqualified because you’re wounded. You are not forgotten because you’re still healing. God sees the end from the beginning. He sees the finished work —even while you’re still under construction.”
Joseph said Inspiration & Light, the daily devotional, reminded him that growth often happens in “quiet, consistent moments — when we choose surrender over shame, and trust over fear.
“That journey planted the seed for this song,” he said. “This is a reminder that God loves you in spite of everything, and that His desire is not to condemn you, but to restore you completely.
“All He asks is that you surrender,” he added. “Perfection in God’s eyes isn’t flawlessness — it’s faith placed fully in His hands. We are all a work in progress. But, in the hands of God, we are made perfect.”
Joseph summarized the main message of “Perfect” as “a heartfelt, faith-driven song for anyone who feels broken or not enough, assuring listeners that God’s grace values them despite imperfections.”
With stirring vocals, emotive production, and deeply reflective lyrics, Joseph offers a message of hope, inviting listeners into a space of honesty and encouragement.
Blending contemporary gospel, reggae, and soulful melodies, Joseph says “Perfect” reminds listeners that they are seen, valued, and made whole through grace, and invites all to embrace this message.

He shares that the song serves as both a personal testimony and a universal declaration, encouraging faith, healing, and renewed confidence in God’s design for every listener.
“This song was written for people who feel like they don’t measure up,” Joseph said. “It’s a reminder that God’s love meets us right where we are, and, in Him, we are already enough.

“I wanted ‘Perfect’ to feel honest and freeing — like a weight lifting off your shoulders when you realize God isn’t asking you to perform for His love,” he added.
“No matter where you’re from or what you’ve been through, this song is meant to remind you that God’s grace already calls you whole,” continued Joseph, renowned for his authentic ministry, musical versatility, passionate worship leadership, and commitment to creating music that uplifts and inspires.
His work continues to resonate with listeners across churches, conferences, and concert stages, bridging worship and real-life experience through authentic sound and genuine storytelling.
