With yet another poor batting display, West Indies Women struggled, allowing Australia Women to complete a dominant ODI series sweep. Australia secured a nine-wicket win at Warner Park in St. Kitts.
The West Indies, despite winning the toss and choosing to bat first, were bowled out for just 136 in 35.4 overs. Player-of-the-Match Alana King took five wickets, setting the tone for Australia’s control of the match.
In reply, continuing their dominance, Australia comfortably chased down the target, reaching 137 for one in just 19.4 overs. Player-of-the-Series Phoebe Litchfield led the way with an unbeaten half-century, sealing a comprehensive whitewash.
With this victory, Australia capped a perfect white-ball tour, winning all six matches, including the earlier T20I series.
Earlier in the match, West Indies made two changes, debuting Shunelle Sawh and recalling Realanna Grimmond for Qiana Joseph and Shemaine Campbelle.
With Joseph absent, Deandra Dottin was promoted to the opener’s role. She and Captain Hayley Matthews added 38 runs in under six overs.
Dottin scored 22 off 19 balls before edging Lucy Hamilton to first slip, where Phoebe Litchfield caught her.
After Dottin fell for 22 off 19 balls, edging Lucy Hamilton to first slip, where Phoebe Litchfield took the catch, disaster struck. The Windies quickly lost their next four wickets for just 40 runs. Debutant Sawh managed only three before falling to Nicola Carey, while Stafanie Taylor was caught behind for five, leaving the score 56 for three.
Alana King dismissed Hayley Matthews for 32, then took Jannillea Glasgow for a duck two balls later.
Chinelle Henry fought back with an unbeaten 42 off 54 balls, sharing a 37-run partnership with Realanna Grimmond for the sixth wicket. However, the rest of the batting lineup crumbled as King ran through the lower order.
King took 5-19; Ashleigh Gardner added 2-29.
Australia wasted no time, as Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield put on 50 for the first wicket before Ashmini Munisar dismissed Voll for 23.
Litchfield and Ellyse Perry combined in an unbeaten 87-run partnership to secure an easy win for Australia.
