Donna Bridgeman, founder of Sssilentpartner Promotions, is a multifaceted queen, whose all-inclusive Masquerade Ball has attracted thousands of patrons for the past seven years.

This year, the glam occasion returns on Sept. 20, for its eighth revelry, that is expected to be a spectacular gathering of lavishly dressed guests at the themed: Royalty at the Met, a red-carpet affair, at the exclusive Marine Park Golf Course, 2889 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. The event will run from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Bridgeman, a costume designer and entertainment promoter, told Caribbean Life on Aug. 27 that she has been hosting the event since 2017 because back then, there was a lack of lavish entertainment for persons over40 who wanted to get dressed up and have a good time without having any disruption, or violence.

As such, she started the masquerade ball to give partygoers an opportunity to wear formal attire, with a mask. And as customary, patrons are judged in three categories. The best dressed masquerader, a King and Queen will receive, cash prizes of $100, $200, and $300.

“We select three of the best dressed persons, at the Royalty gala,” she said.

Music will be provided by ShoozXL, Dsugaz, Conquest Sound and Foreign Bass Production. The ball will be hosted by Ian d Goose and Charmaine Spicer..

Over the years, the philanthropist has donated part proceeds to various non-profits, including the Heather Hurley Foundation for the prevention of domestic violence, Autism Speaks, African charities, and the Christopher foundation, named for a young man who was killed by gang violence, among others.

Partial proceeds will be donated to New Horizons.

This year a contribution will be made to Safe Horizon Child Centers — the largest victim services nonprofit organization in the United States, providing social services for victims of abuse and violent crime.

“The ball has become even bigger. because now people are looking forward to attending the event,” Bridgeman said. “The theme has always been highlighted as royalty, but this year, it’s an evening of royalty at the Met.”

“You won’t believe how people dress beautifully. We have a multi-cultural mixture of people, who are mature. The ball is very peaceful,” said Bridgeman, a nurse practitioner who works in the cardiology department at Brookdale Hospital. She was recently awarded the 2025 Nurse of Distinction Award for outstanding service to the institution.

“I like to entertain, said the Afro-centric lady, a San Fernando- Trinidad & Tobago native, who has lived in the U.S. for over thirty-years, while being involved in various activities.
