Celebrate Mother’s Day at various events, with music, dance, food

Platinum Drip & BKC514 will host a grand Mothers Day Pop-up Shop that will celebrate the ladies during an afternoon filled with enjoyment. Food, drink, clothes, candles, among other things, will be available during the five-hour event, set for May 8, from 4 pm – 9 pm.

The group of friends, which wants to create events for individuals to have a great time and network in a safe inexpensive environment, will bring together the community in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The pop-up will be held at 248 Tompkins Ave. in Bedford Stuyvesant.

Pink Moonchies will present “Lets Up-lift Our People” with two floors of minority owned businesses that will be laid out at the Phaze 2 event space, located at 9117 Ave. L, Canarsie, Brooklyn. Deejay Versastyle will provide music during the festivities on May 8, from 5 pm – 11 pm.

Vendors from different industries will sell drinks, clothing, adult toys, edibles, skincare and beauty, jewelry and art.

Also honoring mothers is “My Life Funny Comedy Series” by Ace Zanders, who will present a “Mother’s Day Tribute.”

The affair will celebrate all mothers at the After Brunch show, at Brooklyn House of Comedy, 211 Putnam Ave. Brooklyn. Onika McLean, Eb The Celeb, Jenae Boston and Kelly Rob will take the stage at the comedy presentation. Show time is 6 pm  – 8pm.

Additionally, Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance, will host a Chicago Style Steppin’ session at 1368 Fulton St., Brooklyn. The showcase will be held on May 8 from 2:30  pm.

Mothers will be welcomed at Brooklyn Botanic Garden for Art in the Gardens, on May 8 at 2 pm. Fanm dAyiti (women of Haiti), will present the afternoon of canvas and watercolor, as part of its spring weekends.

Meanwhile, Rhythm at Remedies music series that supports local musicians, will strike up the music at Remedies Herb Shop, located at 453 Court St., Brooklyn. The event will be on May 8, at 5 pm.

Coronavirus protocol will be in full effect at all of these events.
