Annual CACNY Children’s Party

The Caribbean American Center of New York (CACNY) presents its 14th Annual Holiday celebration for children, ages 1 to 10 in New York City temporary housing and other needy children, in partnership with The Magnolia Tree Earth Center, The American Association of Blacks in Energy and Brooklyn Job Corps, Saturday Dec. 15 at 12:00 noon. The event is free and features Santa, music, refreshments, a magician, games and of course gift bags laden with new toys and clothes. The occasion takes place at 585 DeKalb Ave. at the Job Corps Building.

Since the beginning of November, CACNY began distributing some 15 pallets of brand, new school uniforms, cardigans, polos, sleepwear and more, to churches, schools, group homes and homeless shelters in Coney Island, Staten Island, Far Rockaway, Queens and New Jersey.

On Dec. 19, CACNY will take its Holiday Gifts on Wheels Project to children impacted by Sandy to WAVE Preparatory Elementary School in Far Rockaway and on Dec. 21 to Staten Island.

CACNY will continue its holiday gift-giving into the New Year with a Three Kings celebration in the Bronx. The organization gives full credit to Kids In Distressed Situations (KIDS) and The Legacy Center in Brooklyn.

CACNY is a tax-exempt, 501C-3 nonprofit, multi-purpose organization which was founded in 1987 to provide FREE services to low-income New Yorkers, with a strong focus on youth of all ages.
