New York’s most popular borough for innovators and artists is Brooklyn, a bastion of creative freedom and underground cool, according to Marie Driven, the Brooklyn-based Haitian American entertainment publicist.

“By default, the strategy of standing out has helped to establish the neighborhood as a naturally vibrant scene for businesses to thrive,” Driven, managing partner of PlaybookMG, a premier entertainment publicity company in Brooklyn, told Caribbean Life over the weekend.

“The non-profit BK Style Foundation has nurtured the Brooklyn style and designed ecosystem since 2006, and, 16 years later, Fashion Week Brooklyn continues to bridge fashion and the community,” she added.

“Fashion Week Brooklyn brought back the essence of fashion night out,” continued Driven, stating that on April 8, BK|Style presented “Denim Night Out.”

Driven said Brooklyn Fashion week showcased NYC’s “top influencers,” such as Rapper Phresher, OT9beno, Official Gino, Etherdaconnect, and Ceaser from Black Ink, Wesly of Zamni Restaurant, to name a few.

“They were rocking popular Brooklyn boutique Vinnie Styles Clothing brand ‘Dreamland’ with an exceptional performance by New Jersey’s own Mr. Chicken & Luna Grey,” said Driven, disclosing that she and media guru Ray Holliday hosted the show.

“The crowd shouted with joy as their favorites walked down the runway,” she added. “Each artist had the chance to walk to their music, making it a vibe.

Sponsors included Lilly Burst, Tiki Rum Punch, Alegendz, Okaigo & Dark Kiss Aroma candles.

“Keep in touch for our next installment of Fashion Week Brooklyn, powered by PlaybookMG, slated for October 2022,” Driven urged.
