Billboard charting hit “Gal Policy” (top 10 Caribbean Island charts) from Jamaican crooner Kranium has been warming up the hearts of fans worldwide with lush vocals and steamy production.
Mellow whims throughout the beat, combined with Kranium’s elegant lyrics, create a song that sticks to the ears of listeners like butter on warm toast.
The lyric video currently sits at six million views, prompting the dropping of an official music video soon.
“Gal Policy” averages over 1,000 searches a day on the popular music discovery app, Shazam.
“It’s humbling during tough times worldwide that people are finding peace and solace in streaming a song of mine,” Kranium said. “To see ‘Gal Policy’ take off the way it has, and continues to do so, is amazing.”
“’Gal Policy’ is doing so well on Spotify that the popular app has made Kranium the cover star for their dancehall official playlists, totaling 902k listeners tuning into the sounds of Caribbean hits,” Marie Driven, the Haitian American managing partner of the Brooklyn-based entertainment company PlaybookMG.
She said Kranium averages nearly 350k streams weekly across Spotify and Apple Music alone, adding that he is “proving to be a certified summer hit.”
“’Gal Policy’ was recently added to the mix show list at Hot 97, and we’ll likely see the same in other cities very soon,” Driven said.
