Michael K. Williams, whose death on Sept. 6 at the age of 54 has shocked the entertainment industry, made himself one of television and film’s most recognizable and compelling actors, says Variety. From The Wire to Boardwalk Empire, to Lovecraft Country, which he is nominated for a 2021 Emmy award for Best Supporting Actor, Williams was a compelling performer, as well as a viable contributor to community and charity efforts throughout New York City and the rest of the nation. Through the years, Williams openly discussed his problem with drugs, continuously attempting to get clean. Tragically, after not showing up for an event on September 5, his nephew found “Williams dead of a suspected heroin overdose.” He was slumped over “with what appeared to be heroin on the kitchen table,” according to the New York Post. There are also reports that the heroin may have been laced with fentanyl. He was always so nice whenever I ran into him. Rest in peace.

Guys, can’t we all just get along?
