According to Forbes, Kanye West lost his status as a billionaire after Adidas ended its’ partnership with the rapper/designer. Although Adidas alone may have totally been the cause of the demise of West’s billions, Forbes says it is a combination of the loss of several deals, including with the Gap, Balenciaga, and others. On Oct. 26, Footwear News reported that an email was sent to Foot Locker employees telling them that all merchandise associated with West’s “Yeezy” brand is to be relocated to the back room of retail stores until further instructions are given. West is said to be currently worth around $400 million. The majority of his income is now in real estate, liquid cash, his music catalog and a less than 5 percent stake in Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand.

A host of Will Smith’s Hollywood friends including Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, Kenya Barris, Dave Chappelle and Tyler Perry, showed the Oscar winning actor support recently during a private screening of his new Apple movie, “Emancipation.”  This is Smith’s first movie release since the incident with Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie follows Will’s character, Peter, as he escapes slavery and finds freedom during the Civil War. Smith also screened the movie earlier this month at the Congressional Black Caucus Weekend in Washington D.C. Emancipation premieres in theaters on December 2 before moving over to Apple on Dec. 9.

Singer-songwriter Mashonda, who has worked with Jay-Z, DMX, and Raphael Saadiq, releases the enlightening “Note to Self” EP as well the passionate music video “Complicated” on Friday, Oct. 28 on Tifrere Music distributed by Beatroot. The five-song EP is a sonic collection of self-reflection. Shot in New York, the “Complicated” music video marks Mashonda’s debut as a producer and director. Says Mashonda, “This project is a return to my first love, music, on my terms. ‘Note to Self’ is a diary that explores the navigation of love and pain and the transformation that comes with that journey. Every word of this EP is inspired by my personal experiences through the human emotions that come with love.”

As Drake celebrated his 36th birthday on Oct. 24 with his celebrity friends in Miami, Dave’s Hot Chicken in Los Angeles gave out a free slider or tender to commemorate the Toronto emcee’s Bday because he’s a major investor in the City of Angels based restaurant chain. Meanwhile, at Drizzy’s party at Sexy Fish in Miami, he raffled off huge prizes like $5,000 gift cards, $10,000 in cash, Chanel bags, and even a Rolex! Guests included DJ Khaled, 21 Savage and Lil Baby.
