Harlem Arts Alliance calls for submissions

Harlem Arts Alliance (HAA) is now accepting submissions from visual artists for the Harlem Artz, Rootz & Rhythm Festival 2011 promotional poster and schedule.

Visual artists are invited to submit artwork based on the theme “Harlem: Our Shared Global Culture” and that reflect & underscore the rich history, culture & diversity of Harlem. The selected artwork will be the featured image on the Harlem Artz, Rootz & Rhythm Festival 2011 promotional poster and schedule. More than 5,000 promotional posters will be distributed throughout Harlem and New York City highlighting the host of performances, which will take place from May to September of this year.

The Harlem Artz, Rootz & Rhythm Festival will take place at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr State Office Building Plaza and various locations in Harlem’s Historic Park. Artz, Rootz & Rhythm (ARR) Festival will feature multi-disciplinary performances showcasing Harlem arts organizations and artists from Harlem and beyond capturing the spirit of arts and culture in Harlem and draws spectators in the thousands.

“The Harlem Artz, Rootz & Rhythm Festival is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their talent within New York City’s arts and cultural community,” states Kim George, associate director, HARLEM Arts Alliance.

The deadline for sumbitting art for the promotional poster is Friday, March 25, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.
