Recounting the years as a Tuskegee Airman

History was seen through the eyes of Air Force Lt. Col. John Mulzac, a decorated WWII volunteer fighter-pilot and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn resident, who was the guest-of-honor Wednesday, April 6 at the Bed-Stuy YMCA for the taping of a Black Entertainment Television (BET) historical documentary.

The YMCA hosted an in-depth interview with the decorated Tuskegee Airman, conducted by BET TV host and Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ed Gordon.

Col. Mulzac, a member of the Bed-Stuy YMCA, recounted his years as a volunteer fighter pilot during WWII, as a member of the famous Tuskegee Airmen and as a commercial pilot.

The colonel displayed the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor awarded to him in 2006 and spoke about the struggles of his famous unit.
