Springfield Gardens Lions Club serves the community and beyond

Springfield Gardens Lions Club President Lion Sandra Townsend has donated clothes and personal care items to the District 20-K1 Special Projects Committee to benefit the refugees arriving in New York City on Oct. 15, 2022.

The following day, Club Secretary Lion Iris Allen donated blood in the District 20-K1 Blood Drive. Also on that day, first VP Merle Warren and Secretary Allen participated in the Annual ACS Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in Queens.

On Oct. 15, 2022, Club President Lion Townsend, first VP Lion Warren and Club Secretary Lion Allen attended the GAT training to enhance their leadership skills.

The Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc is collecting winter coats, hats, scarfs, boots and socks to assist the Helen Keller Services for the Blind’s Helen’s Closet. The collection drive ended on Oct. 21 and a presentation date is being scheduled to make the donation to Helen Keller Services for the Blind.

The officers and members of the Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc. look forward to conducting more service events to meet their community needs.
