The Stalwarts Youths Corporation in collaboration with the 69th Precinct Clergy Council, and Consuming Fire Ministries International Inc. distributed 300 fruit and vegetable boxes outside the church’s 9623 Ave. L, Brooklyn location, just in time for the July 4 weekend, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact New Yorkers.

The July 3, humanitarian effort, according to Dimple Willabus, community advocate and founder of the Stalwarts Youths Corporation, helped persons who lost income, were furloughed, and others who needed a healthy meal.

Willabus thanked Andrew Douglas of A&D Trucking Company whose company transported the boxes, and bags of bread donations from 4mycity.us of Baltimore, Maryland. The distribution was made across Brooklyn, to help households enjoy the holiday weekend.

Willabus was happy that scores of people took advantage of the giveaways that continued the following day at the 71th Precinct Community Council on Empire Blvd, where more boxes of groceries, as well as masks, compliments of Mayor de Blasio’s and Borough President Adam’s offices, were handed out.

Bishop-elect Dr. Cheryl Barker, leader, Consuming Fire Ministries International Inc. said it was a pleasure working with the community and clergy to bring about synergy and provision because that is what God wants “us to do in service to the community.”

Additionally, the church holds clothing drives during its ongoing mission in the community. Barker also thanked partners for including her in the day of service.

Information on future distributions will be posted on social media platform, facebook, and www.consumerfireministires.org.
