The sensational international, Jamaican-born, dancehall recording artist, Macka Diamond, is making her triumphant return with a chart-topping hit called “Still Got It.”
“This powerhouse vocalist made waves in the crossover scene last year, leaving an indelible mark,” Marie Driven, a Brooklyn-based, Haitian-American entertainment publicist, told Caribbean Life on Friday.
“It was her exceptional lyrical prowess that caught the attention of the esteemed producer, Swizz Beatz, during a mesmerizing performance at the renowned Miss Liliys Restaurant (in Manhattan),” added the managing partner of the entertainment promotional company, Playbookmg. “But that wasn’t the only time Macka Diamond wowed the crowd; she also delivered an unforgettable show at Angela Yee Day in Brooklyn.”
Driven said that Macka Diamond’s journey in the music industry began in the late 1980s, when she captivated audiences under various stage names, such as Lady Charm, Lady Worries, and Lady Mackerel.
With a string of incredible singles, she collaborated with notable artists like Captain Barkey and Wickerman.
But it was in 2003, when she took on her iconic moniker, Macka Diamond, with the release of her single, “Tek Con,” Driven said.
“From that point forward, Macka’s artistry blossomed, delivering hit after hit, including the infectious tunes ‘Bun Him’, ‘Done Already’, and ‘Dye Dye,’” Driven said.
But she said Macka Diamond is more than just a music artist; “she has become a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
“Her undeniable talent has transformed her into a brand, and, in November 2023, she inked an impressive partnership deal with the renowned retailer, Walmart,” said Driven, stating that “this collaboration solidifies Macka Diamond’s status as not only a remarkable musician but also a business mogul.
“So, brace yourselves for the unstoppable Macka Diamond, as she takes the world by storm once again with her latest masterpiece, ‘Still Got It’”, Driven added. “Prepare to be captivated, enchanted, and left in awe of this extraordinary artist who continues to redefine the boundaries of music and success.”
