As fall turns to winter, Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will be enlivened by a variety of dynamic multicultural offerings at its Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts.
The November and December lineup includes a celebration of the Garifuna people of Central America, an urban play by Ina Norris and a fusion of jazz and Caribbean music.
Kumble Theater is located on Flatbush Avenue between DeKalb Avenue and Willoughby Street in downtown Brooklyn.

In A Woman Production presents: “The Turnstyle Warrior” by Ina Norris
Directed by the playwright, Ina Norris, this urban tale recounts the dilemma of a young man trying to decide whether to symbolically “jump” the turnstile. Each attempt is thwarted by a significant person in his life; subsequently, valuable life lessons are learned.

James Lovell presents: “Yurmein.”
Yurmein recognizes the 213th anniversary of the arrival of the Garifuna people in Central America and celebrates 30 years of Belize’s Independence through music, song and dance.

Wrap City Collective, in association with Kumble Theater, presents: “The Tambran Seed Sessions”
“The Tambran Seed Sessions” features an eclectic ‘mélange’ of jazz fusion, Caribbean and contemporary acoustic music, by six stellar emerging vocalists and musicians – r’kardo st’von, 2ntrigue, Fay Ola, Kevon Carter, Charisa aka The Violin Diva and Dane Gulston on steel pans.

At The Top Entertainment Group, Inc., in association with Kumble Theater, Independent Film New York and The Malik Yoba National Theater, presents: “IFNY Monologue Slam.”
On the heels of three successful “IFNY Monologue Slams,” talented actors will compete against each other for prizes and the championship title through a series of challenges and boot camp-like exercises in front of industry judges. The slam will be hosted by Malik Yoba.
