Tenisha Holder and Elijah Cadogan, showcased Ins & Outs of Barbados 2023 during the recent Travel & Adventure Show at Manhattan’s Jacob Javits Center, as travel fully returns to the Caribbean after the coronavirus pandemic.
Holder, senior business development officer at Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. New York, told Caribbean Life that Barbados is a romantic island with rich history, shopping, beaches, and exciting entertainment.
“Barbados is a beautiful place to visit all year round,” she shared, noting the island’s endless summer atmosphere and food scene that have taken off with new restaurants, opened throughout and after the pandemic.
“You can taste your way across the island, and my personal recommendation is to take a catamaran cruise and relax with a rum punch in hand,” said Holder.
The 192-page magazine has features including “Walk the Bajan Mile,” “Barbados 365,” “Where to eat with kids,” “Adventure at-a-Glance,” and leads on where to find “Land & Sea Tours,” “Sailing & Snorkeling,” among other experiences for a thrilling vacation.
Elijah Cadogan, senior business development officer at Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. New York, in turn, invited tourists to check out the town of Oistens, where the annual Fish Festival is held, and which honors those who contribute to the local fishing industry, while giving tourists a cultural feel of the island.
The Barbados Food & Rum Festival in the month of October is a mecca for connoisseurs from around the world, and one of the island’s favorite events, they concurred.
The Welcome to Barbados pamphlet which states, “Each place in Barbados has a story,” and the “Time of your life is waiting,” also showcases 50 reasons to visit the island, such as partaking in the food and drink, its history and culture, attractions and activities, to entice visitors to its breathtaking beaches.
The Travel & Adventure shows that have been the go-to place for more than 2.5 million travelers and more than 4,500 of the world’s top destinations, tour operators, cruise lines and travel providers from around the globe for the last 18 years, according to its website (https://travelshows.com/shows/new-york/) also included the island of Anguilla, a British overseas territory, that Senior VP of Anguilla Tourist Board, Alison Ross described as an exciting getaway.
“Anguilla has amazing beaches, a wonderful championship golf course, tennis courts, hiking, and offshore cay,” she said of the 35.14 sq miles oasis for solo travelers, families, couples, and business travelers alike.
It is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles and lies about 12 miles (19 km) north of the island of Saint Martin. Also praised as a flat coral island, perfect for biking, and known for 33 powder-white beaches, turquoise waters, and culinary scene, Anguilla, is helmed by some of the Caribbean’s most talented chefs.
