With the six participating teams in the Hero Caribbean Premier League, the Barbados Tridents top the points table after 10 games with 12 points. Tridents Captain Kieron Pollard has performed significantly well as a batsman scoring 283 runs at an average of 35.37 from 10 innings. Captain Chris Gayle of Jamaica Tallawahs scored 400 runs from 10 innings and he has an average of 66.66, the highest in the tournament so far. He scored the only century of the tournament, a score of 105.

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO REDSTEEL DEFEATS JAMAICA TALLAWAHS

The Trinidad & Tobago Redsteel moved to second place with 11 points in the CPL Tournament after defeating the Jamaica Tallawahs by 7 runs. Captain of the Redsteel Dwayne Bravo led the way by scoring 49 runs from 30 balls, no outs and picking up 2 wickets for 18 runs. Jacques Kallis scored 61 runs from 51 balls, no outs. The Redsteel scored 145 runs for 3 wickets from 20 overs.

CHRIS GAYLE SLAMS 26 RUNS OFF THE FIRST OVER

Tallawahs Captain Chris Gayle started off in electrifying style hitting 3 sixes and 2 fours from the first over bowled by spinner Samuel Badree. After the fall of Gayle’s wicket for 27 off Dwayne Bravo, the Tallawahs were restricted to a much slower run rate. Sulieman Benn and Samuel Badree controlled the flow of runs by the Tallawahs batsmen. Andre Russell came on with some heavy hitting scoring 36 runs off 22 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours. The Jamaica Tallawahs scored 138 for 9 off 20 overs losing by 7 runs. Benn took 2 wickets for 28 runs, Badree 3 for 35 and Captain Dwayne Bravo 2 wickets for 18 runs.
