Caribbean-owned La’Mode BK proudly celebrated its three-year anniversary on May 4, marking an important milestone for one of Crown Heights’ more beloved dining destinations.

Known for its bold Caribbean-Asian fusion cuisine, vibrant atmosphere, and unwavering commitment to the Brooklyn community, La’Mode BK has become more than a restaurant, according to Grenadian-born owner and founder Amanda St. Louis.

“It has become a cultural gathering space and neighborhood staple,” she told Caribbean Life. “Founded with a vision to bring people together through food, flavor and hospitality, La’Mode BK was built on the idea of blending the rich traditions of Caribbean cuisine with modern Asian influences.”

Since opening its doors in Crown Heights, St. Louis said the restaurant has attracted locals, visitors, entrepreneurs, artists, and families alike — “all seeking an experience that reflects the diversity and creativity of Brooklyn itself.”

Over the past three years, she said La’Mode BK has earned a reputation not only for its innovative menu and elevated dining experience, but also for its deep investment in community engagement.

“From supporting local initiatives and hosting cultural events to creating a welcoming space for celebration and connection, the restaurant has consistently demonstrated its dedication to the people of Crown Heights and beyond,” St. Louis said.

During the anniversary celebration, La’Mode BK, St. Louis said she, her co-owning, Grenadian-born mom Denise St. Louis, and business partner Vincentian Brian Lewis were honored by State Sen. Kevin Parker, representative for the 21st Senate District in Brooklyn, with an official proclamation.

St. Louis said Parker recognized their “commitment to service, hospitality, community engagement, and continued contributions to the Borough of Brooklyn.”

“The recognition highlights the establishment’s role as a growing force in hospitality, culture, and entrepreneurship,” St. Louis said.

She said the anniversary celebration also featured notable community leaders and speakers, including 56th Assembly District Leader Kenesha Traynham-Cooper, and entrepreneur and publishing executive Kamala Millwood.

St. Louis reflected on her journey, expressing gratitude to loyal patrons, staff, family, and community supporters who have helped shape La’Mode BK into what it is today.

“What started as a dream has grown into a movement rooted in culture, resilience, and community,” she said. “We are proud of how far we’ve come in just three years, and we are even more excited about where we are heading.

“This is only the beginning for La’Mode BK,” added St. Louis, disclosing that she plans to continue expanding the restaurant’s “brand presence” while deepening its impact within the community through partnerships, events, and elevated culinary experiences that celebrate multicultural flavors and Brooklyn pride.

“As La’Mode BK enters its next chapter, the restaurant remains committed to innovation, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences that honor both heritage and evolution,” she continued.

The restaurant is located at 1401 Bedford Ave., between St. Mark’s Avenue and Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY 11212.
