Matheus Cunha scored twice and celebrated in style, while Vinícius Júnior added a goal and an assist as Brazil secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti to book their place in the next round of the World Cup.

Haiti, competing in their first World Cup since 1974, became the first team to be eliminated from the knockout-stage contention in the expanded 48-team tournament.

Meanwhile, Brazil delivered the result they needed, with coach Carlo Ancelotti revealing that Neymar is expected to return from a calf injury for their final group-stage match against Scotland after missing the opening two games.

Brazil found their attacking spark through Cunha, who made a strong case for a regular starting spot with a standout display against Haiti.

After being used only as a late substitute in the 1-1 draw with Morocco, the Manchester United forward seized his opportunity, delighting the large Brazilian crowd at Lincoln Financial Field.

Cunha opened his World Cup account by converting a rebound before doubling Brazil’s lead with a powerful left-footed finish into the top corner, putting the match firmly in Brazil’s control before halftime.

Brazil suffered an early setback when Raphinha was forced off injured in the first half, shortly after seeing a goal ruled out for offside.

However, the Seleção quickly took control as Vinícius Júnior played a key role in the opening two goals. His initial effort was saved by goalkeeper Johny Placide, but Matheus Cunha reacted fastest to score the rebound for 1-0. Vinícius then threaded a precise pass through the defence for Cunha, who fired an unstoppable shot into the net to double Brazil’s advantage.

Vinícius added a goal of his own before halftime, giving Brazil a comfortable lead and leaving fans optimistic ahead of their final Group C match against Scotland, where Neymar is expected to return.

Meanwhile, Paraguay makes history.

Matias Galarza scored after just 65 seconds—the fastest goal of the World Cup so far—as Paraguay defeated Turkey 1-0 despite playing with 10 men for much of the match.

The result secured first place in Group D for the United States, eliminated Turkey from knockout-stage contention, and left Paraguay needing a win over Australia in their final group game to claim second place.

Paraguay played most of the match with 10 men after Miguel Almirón was sent off late in the first half for violating a new World Cup rule during an on-field confrontation.

Despite Turkey dominating possession and out-shooting Paraguay 32-7, goalkeeper Orlando Gill produced several crucial saves to protect the 1-0 lead.
