Just after being appointed chairman of the 28th Inter-sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government, on Jan. 1, President of Guyana David A. Granger met with CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, and a delegation to discuss the Feb. 16-17 forum.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Greenidge and Senior Advisor in the Office of the SG Neville Bissember, recently attended the briefing held at State House in the final stages before the meeting is hosted in Guyana.

President Granger who succeeds Prime Minister of Belize Dean Barrow, as part of a rotation process for the chairmanship of the Conference of Heads of Government, also briefed Head of the CARICOM Unit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Charlene Phoenix, and Executive Director of Human Resource Management Charmaine Atkinson-Jordan.

The group hammered out details for the success of the upcoming conference to be attended by all heads of state of the Caribbean community.
