Janay Malloy, a senior marketing director and partner at the Wall Street-based World Financial Group, will be the featured speaker at a free seminar on the Diaspora and Wealth on Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center in Brooklyn.
According to Roslyn D. Oliver, the Vincentian-born director of expansion within World Financial Group, The Diaspora and Wealth is a “free networking, education-about-money and entrepreneurship event tailored for people in the New York Tristate area.
“The people of the Diaspora are a driving force in today’s economy,” she told Caribbean Life. “We contribute to infrastructure of the business financial arenas in our communities and beyond. Yet we are behind in many areas of financial planning as well as overall financial knowledge and confidence.
“Come, invite some friends and or family members, drink some wine, network with like-minded people, and get educated about how to build an empire of wealth and leave a legacy for your family — no matter how much money you have,” Oliver urged.
She said the mindset needed is “to guide you to financial independence and security,” stating that the workshop also features complimentary one-on-one coaching session and financial needs analysis “to evaluate where you currently are and develop a strategy to meet your personal financial goals.”
Oliver said participants will, among other things, learn how to increase cash flow and build wealth, create a legacy for one’s family no matter how much money one has, create the keys to proper protection, build a retirement strategy.
The workshop will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm; registration begins at 6:30 pm.
The Friends of Crown Heights Education Center is located at 671 Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY 11216. The public can reach Oliver at (212) 797-1600.
