Jason Holder continued his superb start to the Indian Premier League by taking three wickets to help the Gujarat Titans secure a dominant 77-run win over the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The victory lifted the Titans to second place in the standings with their fourth consecutive win.

After being sent in to bat, Gujarat posted a competitive 229 for four in 20 overs, thanks to a rapid 118-run opening partnership in under 11 overs between captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan.

Gill led the scoring with 84 off 44 balls, inclusive of nine fours and three sixes, while Sudharsan struck 55 from 36 deliveries belting six fours and two sixes.

Holder contributed just seven runs before being the second of Brijesh Sharma’s two wickets (2-47) but responded impressively with the ball, cleaning up the Royals’ lower order to finish with figures of 3-12 from 2.3 overs as Rajasthan were dismissed for 152 in 16.3 overs to give the Titans their fourth consecutive win.

He removed fellow Barbadian Jofra Archer for five, along with Dasun Shanaka and Tushar Deshpande.

Rashid Khan was named Player of the Match after taking 4-33, helping the Titans move up to 14 points with leaders Sunrisers Hyderabad, only behind on net run rate.
