Friends of Mustard Seed Communities is celebrating 22 years of charity work with its annual luncheon to benefit the Mustard Seed Communities, scheduled to take place at the New York Hilton and Towers, 1335 Avenue of the Americas (53rd Street), New York City, on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at 12:30p.m. Tickets are priced at $130 each and are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Proceeds from the 22nd Annual Friends of Mustard Seed Communities Luncheon go to benefit orphans, children with special needs, families with HIV/AIDS, battered women and other vulnerable persons.
The event will honor three notable New Yorkers for their continued and dedicated efforts to support Mustard Seed Communities and the needy in the world. They are: Dr. Kathie-Ann Joseph, MD, MPH, director, Breast Services South Manhattan Network NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, NYU Langone Medical Center; Patrick Jolly, President of Tower Isle Frozen Foods and The Rev. Mark Francisco Bozzuti-Jones, priest for pastoral care and nurture at Trinity Church on Wall Street, Manhattan.
The Rev. Bozzuti-Jones will also serve as the luncheon’s keynote speaker.
The Jazz duo of soloist Tuliva-Donna Cumberbatch and pianist Donald Smith will entertain luncheon attendees with their jazz melodies during the meal.
This year’s fashion must-haves show curated by Walter Green – The Global Fashion Connection, will showcase designers from Africa, The Caribbean and The Americas.
For the first time, this year’s luncheon will be followed by dancing with DJ Runner spinning favorite tunes from today and yesterday.
In addition to a variety of silent auction items, the popular Friends of Mustard Seed Raffle drawing will be conducted at the luncheon. This year’s grand prize is a three-night stay for two at the new Jewel Dunn’s River Resort & Spa in Ocho Rios with airfare on JetBlue Airways. Contribution for raffle tickets: $5.00 each, $25.00 for a book of six tickets.
