The world-renowned reggae band Mighty Diamonds, is slated to perform at Milk River in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Dec. 28.

The legendary three-member Jamaican band, active since the late 60s, is internationally known for their roots reggae jams and harmonious tunes. The group earned themselves popularity by creating the weed-themed hit, “Pass the Kouchie,” and other hits like “Have Mercy,” and “I Need a Roof.”

As Rastafarians, many of the group’s songs fall under the roots reggae subgenre, and they often promote and praise the African continent, such as songs like, “Africa.”

The band is comprised of members Donald Shaw, who is the lead singer, Fitzroy Simpson, and Lloyd Ferguson — each respectively known as Tabby, Bunny, and Judge. To date the band has put out more than 30 studio albums, along with appearances on compilations and several live projects. They have performed and toured North America, the Caribbean, and Europe and continue to perform for over four decades.

Their most popular album was the 1976 release of “Right Time,” their debut project, which brought them critical acclaim as a band. The band is expected to perform several of their hits at the show.

Joining the band for the 8 pm event is special guest and Trinidadian reggae singer, Jamelody.
