New 60-ball tourney to debut at 2022 CPL

Cricket West Indies and the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will provide fans with a revolutionary fast-paced The61XTY—Cricket’s POWER Game.
The first edition of The 6IXTY will see men’s and women’s teams compete in a new 60-ball tournament featuring many of the best cricketers  from the world with SKYEXCH the title sponsor for 2022.
 The 6IXTY will be played from Aug. 24-28 at Warner Park in St. Kitts, prior to the 2022 CPL, which bowls off on Aug. 30, 2022.
The six men’s team will all play on The6IXTY including Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders (TKR), Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, St. Lucia Kings and Jamaica Tallawahs.
TKR. Royals and Amazon Warriors will feature in the women’s 6IXTY.
A CPL media release said last week, “This revolutionary format will see brand new innovation that will not only change T10 cricket and make the game even faster paced and action packed
The batting team has two power play if they hit two sixes on the first 12 balls of the innings. The extra power play can be taken at any time between overs three snd and nine. There will be 30 balls bowled from one end of the wicket, before the action switches to the other end for the final 30 balls.
The extra Power Play over can be taken at any time between the third and ninth over
