A new partnership to help women in need with their “Spring Forward Linking Success and Sisterhood” project was launched earlier this month as women celebrate Women’s History month.
Mrs. Joi Gordon, executive director, Dress for Success Worldwide and Dr. Marcella Maxwell, Eastern Area Links, Women’s Issues Chair announced that the Eastern Area Links and Dress for Success have launched their new partnership.
All 70 chapters in the Links Eastern Area have asked their individual members to donate a dress or a suit that a woman can wear to work or for a job interview.
Each member of the Link Chapter wrote a personal note of encouragement and empowerment to a woman and pined it on the donated garment.
The garments were packed in boxes with the roster of donors and taken to Federal Express for mailing to Dress for Success. Federal Express is supporting this project by not charging for the mailing.
