He’s coming to Brooklyn!

International reggae and dancehall artist Sean Paul is headlining his own concert at Kings Theatre on March 22. It will be his debut show at the historic venue, but not his first in Brooklyn, and he is thrilled to return to perform because the borough’s fanbase reminds him of Jamaica, and he can always count on them for feedback.

“Performing in Brooklyn is always a vibe. So many Jamaicans live there and it’s almost like being at home,” said Paul. “I love playing new music when I come to New York because if the peeps here respond well, then you know it’s going to be a hit.”

He is going to perform hits such as “Gimme the Light,” “Get Busy,” and “Temperature.”

With a number of hit songs under his belt, Paul said it can be a challenge choosing which songs to perform, but those are just a few of many he must do.

“My catalog is so huge that it’s always hard for me to pick which songs to leave out, but there are certain hits that I can’t even think about not doing,” said Paul.

And he will debut one of his newest singles “Mad Love.”

As one of the most popular Jamaican recording artists in the world, he said he is proud of the notoriety and fame he earned over the years. And he is happy to bring his island’s music to the forefront.

“It’s awesome you know? Being recognized for your hard work and your artistry is a huge blessing but repping reggae and Jamaica on an international level is also a massive responsibility — one that I’ve never taken lightly.”
