The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that the Regional Super 50 winners trophy will be named after Clive Lloyd, the former West Indies captain.
Lloyd played for the West Indies from 1966 to 1985. He captained the team from 1974 to 1985. He captained the West Indies winning the first and second cricket World Cups in 1975 and 1979. The Trophy has been named the Clive Lloyd Trophy and will be the trophy for which teams will compete for in the future.
Former Players Honored
The former West Indies players Richie Richardson, Jaffrey Dujon, Collis King, Curtly Ambrose And Gus Logie will have trophies named after them in the competition in their respective disciplines.

The West Indies Cricket Board of directors took a decision a while ago to involve former cricketers in the development of the game and ensure that they are honored appropriately.
West Indies Defeats Bangladesh In First And Second ODI
Lendl Simmons scored his first international century for the West Indies in the first One-Day International against Bangladesh. Simmons scored 122 and Marlon Samuels 71, as West Indies, after scoring 298, bowled out Bangladesh for 258.
In the second O.D.I., Bangladesh scored 220 in their 50 overs with Captain Mushfiqur Rahim scoring 69 and Nasir Hossain 50.
West Indies reached their target at 221 for 2 with Simmons scoring 88, Samuels 80 not out and Danza Hyatt 39 with four sixes and two fours, West Indies has already won the three-match series 2-0. Kemar Roach got 3 for 49 and Ravi Rampaul 2-27. West Indies won by 8 wickets.
Concerns Over Adrian Barath’s Harmstring Injury
West Indies opening batsman Adrian Barath hamstring problems continue to affect him resulting in him being out of the second ODI game against Bangladesh.
Barath was affected by the same problem during the last West Indies tour of Australia and Sri Lanka and it kept him out of the World Cup. Barath’s batting is needed in Tests, more than Limited Overs, for the West Indies have players that can be very effective at the top in Limited Overs but not so many in Tests. It is hoped that Barath will overcome his injuries and would be ready for the Test matches, for he is of vital importance to that game.
