UWI lauds Jamaican hurdler gold medal win

The University of the West Indies (UWI)  has congratulated alumnus, Jamaican athlete, Hansle Parchment on winning gold in the men’s 110-meter hurdles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Parchment clocked 13.05 seconds in the athletics event last week to take the Olympic title.
The UWI Mona Campus alumnus now has two Olympic medals, following his bronze win at the London Olympics, the university said in a statement.
He was also a silver medallist from the 2105 World Championships in Beijing, China.
In 2017 Parchment graduated from the UWI Mona Campus, with a degree in psychology and is among a contingent of students, alumni, coaches and sport medical support staff representing both their countries and the regional university in Olympics.
