Windies players unhappy with their captain

It is clear th

at the West Indies players are unhappy with the manner in which captain Darren Sammy has been performing. Moral is very low and the players have demonstrated from repeatedly that there is uneasiness in the dressing room with the leadership and decision making.

The West Indies team has a captain who cannot lead from the front and that is the result of failure on the field. Too many blunders by Captain Sammy because of his lack of knowledge in key areas of the game. The old fashion way of leading a team is something of the past. Because of technology and the changes that have taken place over the years with rules and regulations, whoever captains the team should be very assertive, strategic, quick thinking and must have the knowledge on when to make certain necessary changes whether it is on or off the field.

The West Indies captain lacks the ability to lead and he must do what is correct and resign after this tour of Australia. If not, the West Indies selectors must make the decision for him. Enough is enough.

Johnson Charles and Kieron Powell are Highly Talented

Among the quality players that exist around the West Indies team, two of them are outstanding in Kieron Powell and Johnson Charles. Powell has exhibited patience, discipline, natural talents and bravery and in addition to those, he scores runs frequently for the team.

Johnson Charles has proved that he is not only a Twenty20 batsman but he can deliver in a One-Day International as well and maybe soon he will be able to earn a spot in the Test team. Charles is highly talented and he has a special quality of sharing the crease and building partnerships.

The West Indies has a very talented squad for Tests, One-Day International and Twenty20 games. Experience players are around with talented young players in all capabilities. Leadership is what needed to bring that top level or respect back to West Indies cricket. Head coach Ottis Gibson has to do some explaining after this Australia series. Why the West Indies lost 5-0 in the ODI series and why the close games all went to the Aussies? West Indies selectors have to take action quickly.
