West Indies leg-spinner Samuel Badree has become the first West Indian coach in the lucrative Indian Premier League.

Badree, a level III coach has been employed as the spin bowling coach for the Delhi Capitals in IPL tournament, which started on March 23, 2019.

Badree will be working with the former Australian Test Player Rickey pointing who is the head coach at the franchise, Badree has played for the Rajastan Royals and then moved to Chennai where he played for two years. He also played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for two seasons

The Trinidadian has made it clear that he has not retired from international cricket,.

Badree has played 197, Twenty20 matches and has taken 187 wickets at an average of 22 and an economy rate of 6.02.
