Brooklyn Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte recently opened her new office on Flatbush Avenue, giving thanks to all who helped in her move.

“Welcome to our new place!” said Bichotte, who represents the 42nd Assembly District, in greeting constituents to 1312 Flatbush Ave.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to support our new beginnings,” added the chair of the Assembly’s Oversight to Minority Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBEs) Subcommittee. “It was an incredible time with friends and community alike, and we look forward to serving you for many years to come.

“We would like to give a special thanks to all of the community artists, who offered their awe-inspiring art work for display: Alaiyo Bradshaw, Jody Christian, Matthew Septimus, Josh Goldstein, Karen Friedland, Douglas Graham, Ashley Sylvestre, Lindsay Manolakos,” said the first Haitian American from New York City to be elected to the State Assembly.

“We would also like to thank all the generous restaurants for donating their delicious foods for our house warming: Bernie’s Partyland, Lord’s Bakery, Exquisite, McBean’s, Picky Eaters, Taste of the City, Met Fresh, Kennedy Fried Chicken, Amigo 99 Cent of Brooklyn, Zelia Cafe, Tennis Court Tenant Association,” she added.

The 42nd Assembly comprises the Brooklyn communities of Ditmas Park, Flatbush, East Flatbush and Midwood.

Besides chairing the Subcommittee on Oversight of MWBEs, Bichotte serves on the following committees: Housing, Government Operations, Economic Development, Small Businesses, Banks and Social Services. She also sits on Gov. Cuomo’s Domestic Advisory Council.

As both Assembly Member and District Leader, Bichotte said she has been an outspoken advocate on issues concerning immigration, unemployment, education reform, health care access, senior citizen centers, affordable housing, women’s and LGBTQ rights, as well as other issues affecting the quality of life in the community.
