Shawn J-Z Carter, the legendary award-winning Hip Hop artist, Brooklyn native, and husband to multi-million-dollar superstar, Beyonce presents, “The Book of HOV” an installation created by Roc Nation to celebrate the life and work of the Brooklyn native, at the Central Library Learning Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza.

The exhibition will be up until Dec. 4, during scheduled hours of operation.

According to www.bklynlibrary.org, the legendary JAY-Z, one of Brooklyn’s most influential figures, has shaped and consistently redefined hip-hop, music and culture on a global scale.

The Book of HOV features never-before-seen images, art, and ephemera from the artist’s archives, providing an unparalleled look at an extraordinary life and career.

This free, immersive experience is one of the only installations of its scope to be housed in an active public space and features text, audio and curation by Roc Nation teams and partners.

The exhibition, that spread throughout two floors of the Central Library, immerses visitors as soon as they walk through the doors, per the website,

The 24th time Grammy Award artist, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who spoke extensively about the installation during an interview with CBS’ Morning co-host, and TV personality Gail King, will welcome art lovers and fans alike to the “Book of HOV,” free, during regular library hours. However, some areas of the exhibition are subject to capacity limits.

When the exhibition is at capacity, visitors will have to wait to be admitted to the library. Also, the exhibition is subject to early closure if the capacity limit is surpassed, said the site.

A library card is not required for entry; however, “we are proud to have partnered with Roc Nation to create a set of limited-edition library cards to accompany the exhibit, says the site.

The exhibition will celebrate the work of JAY-Z with 13 limited-edition library cards honoring each iconic album.

For decades, Shawn ‘JAY-Z’ Carter has redefined and elevated music and culture on a global scale. Now, Roc Nation and Brooklyn Public Library are partnering to present the first exhibition dedicated to the Brooklyn native’s monumental work.

The Book of HOV” — one of the few exhibits of its scope to be housed in an active public space — is a free, immersive experience featuring never-before-seen images, art, and ephemera from the artist’s archives, providing viewers with an unparalleled look at an extraordinary life and career, said the website.

As part of the celebration and in honor of JAY-Z’s unparalleled body of work, Brooklyn Public Library and Roc Nation have joined forces to create 13 limited-edition library cards, each featuring art from an iconic JAY-Z album — from Reasonable Doubt to 4:44.
